Well meeting with potential businesses to stock.
Trip planned to Hyder,Stewart and Meziadin lake.
Lived here 10 years and never drove the 4.5 hrs to Stewart. Shame on me!
It's a little bit of every thing,
mountains that are huge compared to Bulkley Valley. Rivers of beauty and windy roads. First stop Meziadin lake to fish for Sockeye.I am probably the only person in the world to not like the taste of Sockeye. But catching is fun,but I do prefer catching a chum or coho for the fight.I used the hoochie bug which has its own flasher but added a green flasher to with a 10 oz weight. Was Outstanding!Bragging rights that I out fished the down riggers around us. lol
"I even caught a beautiful Bull trout on it over 50 cm."
The adventure led us to Stewart which was on the Portland canal. Small town hospitality. We crossed the border to Hyder Alaska. Met a wonderful lady at the gift shop Boundary gifts.Went to glacier inn where people get hyderized with a shot of 150 proof. Went on to grizzly watching platform about 9 miles up. Never seen any but watched lots of chum salmon spawning. Their amazing strength to make it back to where it all begins again.
Such a monster of a salmon and best fight ever.
Apparently not eaten by many as soft meat.looks Like a prehistoric animal. When I caught in kitimat, they are so strong they rip your line down river! Use spinners like the torpedoI make, fatal attraction, jigs that are black, pink or blue n green.
It was a great experience to meet with wonderful people at campsites, town retail and on the lake
The beauty of prestigious mountain views and glaciers would leave any hearts in awwww!
Successful trip fish on!
